The Galvanizing Process

A brief summary of the hot-dip galvanizing production process: Degreasing → Pickling → Water washing → Fluxing → Hot-dip galvanizing → Passivation → Post-treatment → Inspection and shipment

Degreasing

Immerse in a high-temperature alkaline solution to remove oil and cutting fluid from the cable tray surface.

Purpose: To ensure adhesion for subsequent pickling and galvanizing.
Pickling

Immerse in a hydrochloric acid solution to remove rust and scale.

Key Points: Acid concentration and time must be controlled to prevent over-corrosion.
Water Rinsing

Rinse 2-3 times with clean water to remove acid and impurities.

Purpose: To prevent acid from being carried into the zinc bath, contaminating the zinc bath, and producing zinc slag.
Flux Treatment

Immerse in a zinc chloride + ammonium chloride solution and dry.

Function: Prevents rust recurrence after pickling; forms a protective film upon immersion in the zinc bath, resulting in a more uniform zinc layer.

Hot-dip Galvanizing

Immerse the cable tray in molten zinc at approximately 420℃.
Metallurgical Reaction: Steel and zinc combine to form an alloy layer + pure zinc layer.
Control: Immersion time and lifting speed determine zinc layer thickness.
Passivation

Forms a chemical conversion film, making the zinc layer more resistant to oxidation, acids, alkalis, and salt spray.
Post-treatment

Removes zinc residue, zinc nodules, and burrs. Ensures a smooth appearance and accurate dimensions.
After Sales Project

Inspection, Packaging, and Warehousing Inspection Items: Appearance; Zinc layer thickness (national standard generally ≥65μm)
Adhesion; Packaging and shipment after dimensional accuracy is qualified.
